Pros: To be short, the BEST thing about this cruise was THE PEOPLE! Service was wonderful (EXCEPT in Luminae!). (SeeThree of the Main Stage shows were incredible, ESPECIALLY Singer Stephen Barry!

Cons: Too many to mentions (See Luminae comment above) and shore excursions were hit and miss, with one COMPLETELY unacceptable (The river tubing one!)

Pros: Beautiful ship. Fantastic staff. Entertainment was outstanding, plus diverse and large number of other entertainment and activities. Food very good with four different primary restaurants to choose from and a huge buffet offering foods from different parts of the world that did not taste like common buffet choices. A huge room, with plenty of sitting. There’s something for everybody.

Cons: It’s very hard to find a con. Perhaps that there were not enough lounge chairs at the pools, but that’s usually the case with cruise ships. A con could also be that this cruise is mostly adults. Very few families with children and there is very little for kids to do.

Pros: Very Open, Elegant, Never Felt Crowded, and Great Staff

Cons: Not a traditional Main Dining Room, Could use a bit more activities on the Ship for Sea days.

The ship was fantastic, elagant, and never felt like there were a ton of people on board. The pools and hot tubs were always available and never had an issues getting a table or space at any of the main dining rooms or restaurants. The destinations were incredible. Only cons were that the main dining room felt like four restaurants rather then a traditional main dining room which we prefer the more traditional main dining room experience. The second con was that besides the pool, hot tubs, eating, shows and shopping there wasn't much activities aboard the ship. Could have used a bit more things to do on the ship during sea days.

Pros: The crew is great and the meals in the main and specialty dine are great!

Cons: We prefer the smaller ships and the meals on the buffet are often luke warm or cold.

The crew is above par. Everyone makes you feel welcome. The shows are really Broadway quality. The rooms steward was above beyond! On the excursions, I wish they would skip the rug factory and the cameo fatory. We had a great time on te trip.

This is my third trip on the Edge class ships. Staff is always friendly and helpful and the ship is very well maintained. The organization of the ship is down to a science and runs very smoothly.

Cons: Bed was very hard for us and poor internet connection

Our dining experiences were terrific. Other then running out of V-8 juice 2 days before the cruise ended, we have no real complaints. Even though we dined, for the most part, in one dining room, our wait staff brought us offerings we wanted from the other dining rooms. The Celebrity app made it easy, when the internet worked, to make meal selections.

Ive cruised 10 times, never had a cruise line offer as much and so well. Crew, staff, were outstanding, restaurants were 9-10 every meal, gym was great, good casino games and slots, just very well done everywhere. Thank you, well be back.

Cons: Bar Service is really slow. It seams that Luminea was a bit understaffed.

All in all, a very good trip on the Ascent. I think the food in Luminea is very good. But maybe not quite as good as it used to be. I also felt like they were very short staffed at Luminea and at most of the bars. Not to the point where the service was bad, but you can see they are slightly stressed to handle the amount of customers. But in general, Celebrity is still the best.

The design of the ship does not allow for a total unobstructed view, We had a cabin on deck 6 and while we could see out straight without obstruction the only thing we saw to the sides and below was life boats and equipment. In the room description is says this room "has unobstructed views" !!!!! New to re-word descriptions. Also, while the Infinity balcony was great there is a real issue with keeping the windows clean so you have a nice view. Also did not think the dining selections for the Oceanview Cafe was good. The cruiseline is catering too much toward high-end customers!

We were disappointed in the quality of the food and the service on this ship. We were in a CS suite, and as past passengers and found that Celebrity has gone downhill. My suite was not properly cleaned when we arrived. My luggage didn't make it to my room until after sailing. They are nickel & diming passengers with raising the drink prices an extra $2.00 premium package which is a joke. Everyone in the Retreat was complaining. Lumanie is too BIG. I say go back to The Edge, Apex size ships. Selling day passes to the Retreat pool area for people who did not book a suite is not fair. Makes it not exclusive anymore. Sad to report this.

Food quality for dining at the Luminae was below satisfactory for what is advertised as fine dining for Retreat guests. Except for the ship I would recommend Royal Caribbean first. I would not spend the money for Retreat class, instead I would spend it on the Specialty dining which the food was excellent.
